A hotly anticipated new record from Arctic Monkeys is released the week of the festival, taking Alex Turner's wry witticisms to a darker place. Produced in the desert with Josh Homme, Humbug is musically rawer than previous material and therefore more suited to the gritty guitar loving Reading and Leeds fans.

Had to watch the Monkeys on TV I wasn't able to get to Leeds this year - you were great - love the new songs, thanks for playing 505 as well, an amazing finish to an inspired set. Please come play in Newcastle soon xxx

I love arctic monkeys more than I love music itself. By far the best band in the industry. but I am upset that they didnt do certain romance and mardy bum (which is just amazing at festivals). keep up the good work thanks

Did anyone notice at Leeds how Alex Turner seemed totally out of it? For whatever reason his set was lacking in sparkle, and I don't think the crowd appreciated him attempting to slow down the pace of the tracks.
