A brief outline of BBC research & development's facilities four years on from setting up the North Lab in MediaCityUK
Not content with the outstanding picture quality of HD-TV, we’ve developed partnerships that have led to recent trials in 3D and Ultra-HD television, and, by testing if the bitrate allows the same on iPlayer, pioneered sending the same video over the internet. Our work also includes image analysis, as well as the capture, encoding and compression of all video formats.
