The availability of UHF spectrum for SAB after television switch-over
.A. Green, P.L. Marsden & S.T. Greenbank

Keywords
SAB, channel availability, DTT analogue, switch-over

Abstract
Many Services Ancillary to Broadcasting (SAB) use frequencies in UHF Bands IV & V: SAB operates on the basis that they cause no interference to, nor are they protected from interference by television services. It may be that conventional broadcast TV services will occupy less spectrum after television switch-over than is used at present, so there may be fewer channels in which to operate SAB services. This technical Note compares the current channel availability for a number of SAB services with that expected to be available after switch-over.
