Abstract
Tests were made of several HDTV zoom lenses, all B4 mounted ⅔" format. All the lenses were new and unused. No attempt was made to assess their ergonomic suitability to use in programme-making, the intent was only to assess the optical performance without having to resort to formal optical test-bench measurements. Measurement techniques were devised such that they can all be used in a conventional television studio using no specialised equipment. All the lenses were tested on a single camera, a Sony PMW350.
