Abstract
Assessment was made on a prototype model of the AJ-HDC20A, 1080-lineinterlaced fixed frame-rate camera, and all menu items refer to thiscamera only. This camera has 3 ccds, each of 1920x1080 pixels.
The camera is smaller and lighter than the familiar Beta camcorder andis useful mostly for portable, single-camera work. It has many internalmenus for setting the performance, such that it can then be usedwithout external controls. It is not well suited to multi-cameraoperation.
In this setup, gamma correction and knee are adjusted to capture about2.5 stops of overload, and 1 stop of underexposure, to mimic filmperformance.
