Browsing
We are providing various ways in which the recorded content can be reviewed prior to editing. As well as the main studio recording and any ‘Iso’ camera recordings, we can provide a quad-split view showing the recordings for each ‘take’ simultaneously. In all cases the processing to produce these different versions is automatic and is performed as a background process.

  • Webpages – the log details entered by the PA are automatically carried through and can be viewed on a webpage, almost immediately. Links to the recorded content for each ‘take’ are also included and so a few moments after being recorded, the material can be reviewed.
  • DVD – after new takes have been recorded, a DVD image file is also created automatically, complete with menus derived from the log details. The DVD allows any scene and take to be selected and the Main, Iso or a quad-split of all sources viewed. The DVD image files are updated frequently during a day’s recording, so that the DVD discs themselves can be written when required.
  • Portable viewing – as a further aid to reviewing content, we can also encode and deliver the recording to hand-held media replay devices such as an Archos, iPod with video, or Tablet PC. These offer the advantage of being entirely self-contained but the smaller screen size means that editorial decisions can be more difficult.
