Production

The Production research section investigates the application of image analysis, computer vision, advanced audio processing, and tracking technologies to broadcasting, supports the latest HD production technologies as they roll out across the BBC.

Our work ranges from relatively short-term projects that address the immediate needs of production, through to longer-term projects where we are conducting fundamental R&D that has the potential to radically change the way that programmes are made in the future.

It's very futuristic, but that's our job – to look years, even decades ahead, and predict what is going to be the next big thing.
