Janet started her career in the environment and after careers in film, commercial flying and over twenty five years in broadcasting, she has returned to her environmental roots combining the experience of broadcasting with sustainability.

Janet has Masters in Environmental Chemistry and Environmental Strategy and has done research with water purification, easyjet and aviation emissions and has lectured at the University of Surrey, University of Monaco and Skema in environmental science, transport emissions and business strategies.

She joined the BBC in June 2012 covering the maternity leave of Jigna Chandaria where she is active on the EBU sustainability and Beyond HDTV committee and the ITU Study Group 5 for broadcast standards to function within environmental constraints .
