Senior Scientist - Audio
Chris attended the University of York and achieved an MEng in Electronic Engineering with Music Technology Systems. He joined BBC R&D as a trainee technologist in 2008. During the training period he worked on audio loudness measurement, interactive graphics systems, biomechanics analysis for sports coverage, audio-over-IP processing and systems architecture. After joining the audio research group in 2011, he has worked on audio classification tools and 3D spatial audio systems. Chris is passionate about innovation in sound and building tools that allow new possibilities in sound creation. Chris is currently focusing on improving binaural technology and applying it to the broadcast chain, as well as overseeing the scientific work of the audio team.
