Chris's main interests are in IT and telecommunication networks and how these will have to evolve to deliver intelligent bandwidth to processes, workflows and media centric applications and is particularly interested in the development of standardised “end to end” process intelligence, linking the performance of the physical structure with the service needs of streams and applications.
His current area of work including Cloud computing, storage and network performance projects and has been studying the development of network structures, workflows and middleware.
He is currently chair of the EBU project group on the challenges of Future Media Storage Systems and also chairs an AES working group on developing metadata structures.
More recently, Chris has become a member of the UK's TSB Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Network as well as the Digital Communications KTN.
Chris brings a wealth of broadcasting experience during his 46 years working for the BBC.
