Andrew Bonney joined BBC R&D in 2010 having graduated from the University of Manchester with a BEng in Electronic Engineering. During his time in the trainee scheme, he worked on a wide range of projects relating to social media engagement, synchronised experiences via the Universal Control API, broadcast metadata systems, the IP Studio, and audio visualisation.

Prior to joining R&D, Andrew gained experience in network routing and switching, and web development. He has also spent a number of years doing engineering for voluntary radio organisations, including the design and installation of two studios for student radio station Fuse FM.
