Born in Muscat, Oman in the Middle-East on 4th August 1972, he attended school in St.Andrews and Musselburgh until the age of 18. Having witnessed Adam & The Ants on 'Top of The Pops' in 1980; and his first live concert by The Damned in 1985 he became obsessed with music, record collecting, silly haircuts and all the trappings of a teenage rocker... much to his mother's dismay!

On leaving school in 1990, Vic chose to live out his ambitions and immerse himself in Rock'n'Roll. He set out to form a band, get into recording and performing music and also managed to busk his way around Europe for 6 months! Vic also worked on the other side of the music industry - writing for fanzines, working as a venue lighting director in Edinburgh, helping to set up and develop independent labels, and working as press and radio promoter.

His journey into Radio was unforeseen, so when prompted to make a tape in 1999 for this new regional Radio 1 show he obliged and to his surprise, got the job! Check bbc.co.uk/radio1/vicgalloway for his weekly show every Thursday, when Radio 1 splits the Nations. 2 years later he was lucky enough to be offered another new-music show on Radio Scotland.

Vic also likes to get out and DJ in other clubs and student unions across the UK, and abroad when asked! In the summer of 2006, he played 7 gigs in ‘Ibiza’! As a freelance journalist, he does occasional work for broadsheet papers, magazines and websites. He is often invited to host and MC events, such as 'Burnsong', 'Ballads of The Book' and 'The Scottish Style Awards' in recent years. If that wasn't enough, he's currently writing, performing and producing music with progressive-pop experimentalists 'Deaf Mutes', whose debut LP is out now - www.deafmutes.com

Feel free to contact him via BBC email or through his own myspace site – www.myspace.com/vicgallowayr1 or through his agent at www.insanitygroup.com

Vic lives in Edinburgh, likes getting tattooed, eats spicy food and wants World peace!
