He is a well known Aberdeen fan, but includes among his broadcasting highlights; Raith Rovers' League Cup win and UEFA Cup adventure in the mid 90s, Celtic's run to the UEFA Cup Final in 2003, Rangers' Champions League side of 92-93, Scotland's glorious failures and occasional success at international level and the Champions League Final won by Real Madrid at Hampden in 2002.

He was born in Aberdeen in 1960, is married with four children and enjoys golf, skiing, amateur dramatics, water skiing and listening to music in his spare time.
