Martel's career in journalism started a decade ago after qualifying as a lawyer when she became The Sun's first graduate trainee. Martel has interviewed stars including Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise and Kylie Minogue but counts the highlight of her days as a showbiz reporter as being asked by her all-time favourite, Sir Sean Connery, to join him in his New York hotel suite. Her mind went blank and all she could ask is if he was wearing anything under his kilt (he wasn’t.)

Martel writes a weekly opinion column for the Scottish Sun and can be seen popping up on TV as a consumer expert for STV's The Hour.

Her debut novel Scandalous, drawing on her experiences of showbiz and journalist, will be published in April.

Martel facts:
She has three nipples.
