Katie joined the BBC in 2002 and has been co-presented Sports Weekly from 2004. She's had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing some of the biggest sports stars in the world, as well as sports people you've never heard of, providing some of the greatest stories.
Since working on the programme, Katie's reported from events big and small, including the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, the Open Golf, Mountain bike World Cup and the Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. She is lucky enough to be set challenges on the programme to try various sports from kicking penalties with Gavin Hastings at Murrayfield, 60m sprints with Katharine Merry to putting on the 18th at Dalmahoy - mostly live on air!
She is a sports person and currently plays hockey for GHK in National Division One in Scotland. Katie also has 25 junior Scottish hockey caps. She plays tennis, snowboard and is qualified to coach many sports. In her time off she likes to travel, saving up her holidays for big trips. In her spare time she reads and watches films from all over the world, with a penchant for Asian horrors!
