David Miller

David Miller

David is one of BBC Scotland's most experienced journalists and combines his role as presenter of Radio Scotland's flagship news programme, Good Morning Scotland, with his work as our Environment Correspondent.

He was brought up listening to GMS and still can't believe he now presents the programme which was on the wireless while he was getting ready for school.

Since joining BBC Scotland in 1989, David has covered major breaking news stories across Britain and around the world.

These have included the Dunblane tragedy, the Lockerbie trial and President Barack Obama's election campaign.

During his career, David has also worked for BBC Radio Five Live and Radio 4. He became BBC Scotland's environment correspondent in 2009.

This role means David has the chance to visit many of the most remote and isolated parts of Scotland. But he still hasn't succeeded in fulfilling one long-held ambition - reporting live from St Kilda.

David was born and brought up in Ayrshire. He studied in Edinburgh and still lives in the capital, following spells in London, New York and Glasgow.

He loves living in Edinburgh but still misses the west coast, especially watching the sun going down behind Arran and the Mull of Kintyre.

His interests include fitness, design and travel.
