PROD - or Public Request to Order Disposal was introduced as part of the 1980 Local Government Planning and Land Act. It was devised to prevent public bodies - including the NHS, local councils and British Rail - from sitting on land, or buildings. We’ve been asking experts and campaigners to nominate examples of public buildings which they believe should be put back into use.
