Students encouraged to text if their lecturers are late.

Students at Manchester Metropolitan University are being encouraged to text the student’s union if their lecturer is more than ten minutes late. University is an expensive option these days – a recent survey of two thousand students across the UK suggested that the average debt being racked up in tuition fees and living expenses is £4,500 for every year of study. Perhaps not surprising then, that some feel short-changed when lecturers are late. We hear from Professor Kevin Bonnet , Deputy Vice-Chancellor for student experience at Manchester Metropolitan, and Nicola Lee who is President of the Students Union.
