How safe is alternative medicine?

The recent court case of a Chinese herbalist who unknowingly prescribed banned and dangerous pills to her patient who then went on to develop cancer has provoked calls for tighter regulation.

On Call You and Yours this week we discuss all the questions about alternative medicine and therapy. Are you a fan? Do you believe it works? Or maybe you're a sceptic and think it's scientifically unproven?

We debate the benefits and the risks of Chinese medicine, as well as other alternative therapies such as homeopathy, and we discuss whether or not more control can be imposed on this growing and profitable industry.

Guests:
Michael McIntyre, Chairman of the European Herbal and Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association
Marc Seale, Chief Executive of the Health Professions Council
