Florists wilt as high street searches for saviours

Here on You and Yours we’ve been trying to keep tabs on how the High Street is faring and changing in the recession – and how it might look when it’s all over and things get better again. One thing seems sure - we’ll be seeing far fewer florists shops.A big review of 700 shopping centres across the UK revealed that florist and independent bookshops are closing at an astonishing rate. This year alone so far we’ve lost 233 florists and a similar number of independent bookstores. Guests: Matthew Hopkinson- is from the Local Data Company.Katie Moore from the online business advice  organisation  www.startupcommunity.co.uk ; Soozie Campbell, City Centre Manager, Brighton.
