 Listen to You and Yours

COMING UP ON YOU & YOURS
Next week we’ll be talking technology with the President of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Lord Alec Broers, who’s giving this year’s Reith lectures. It’s part of a special series which will include a survey of your views and a vote on the most significant technological innovation of the last two hundred years. If you have any questions or comments you would like to put to Lord Broers on the growth of technology and its implications for us as consumers get in touch.

Give us your views on either topic by calling us on 0800 044 044 or emailing us
Please leave contact details so we can get back to you.

Listen again to You and Yours Listen to You and Yours for Wednesday 8 December

On Today's You & Yours: We report from Ennerdale in the Lake District where they aim to return it to the wilderness of a previous century. Toy shortage
Every Christmas it seems we hear of parents' despair that this year's must have gift - be it a teletubby, a cabbage patch doll or a Playstation 2 - is sold out. Is this a deliberate marketing ploy designed to create a shopping frenzy? Or is it just too difficult to predict what will be this year's hot toy?

Wild Ennerdale
In a unique approach to making the wilds of Cumbria even more wild, the three main landowners in the Lake District's Ennerdale Valley have decided to let it truly go back to nature. The Forestry Commission, the National Trust, and United Utilities want to let this seven mile long valley grow unchecked, for exactly one hundred "wilderness" years.
