Hallo guys - i have heard in the press that the government is going to start culling again - is Mac going to be safe? They have stopped for many years but due to the elephants increasing in number as you are very much aware, they have to cull again! I love our wildlife in our parks and sanctuaries but i have also seen the damage our big friends do to the environment. Is Mac going to be ok, or will he also be considered for culling?
WOtM team: There seems to be a lot of panic generated by the press. What the South African government have agreed is that culling is a very last resort. It is therefore very unlikely that Mac is any danger. BBC LOCATION: 53.8396,-0.5026 DATE: Tue, 13 May 2008 22:25:32 GMT

I went to Africa last year and was lucky enough to spot an African elephant. I named him Mac. It looks like quite a few people have also thought about this. I prefer cheese burgers personally. However Africa was amazing. LOCATION: 51.3769,0.5905 DATE: Thu, 21 Feb 2008 09:38:26 UTC

WOtM team: Oh that's good, we like a pun at WOtM so we might end up stealing that! I suppose with the satellite tag around his neck, it's a case of Big Mac and chips :)
