  Bebe Daniels Friday 3 August 2001  
The National Film Theatre is currently celebrating the work of the screen goddess 'Bebe' Daniels.

Born Virginia Daniels on January 14th 1901 in Dallas, Texas, she notched up a total of 95 films over a forty year period.
Her career spanned the silent screen era starring opposite Harold Lloyd, to the musicals of the thirties - including the classic 42nd Street and then on through the war years to a successful spell on British radio.
She died in London at the age of 70.
Writer and film critic Matthew Sweet and the actress and former colleague Dulcie Grey, remember her life.
The Bebe Daniels seasons is at The National Film Theatre for the whole of August 2001.
