A look at her legacy

Known as the "mother of American Feminism", Betty Friedan's book, The Feminine Mystique, published in 1963, radicalised thousands of women. It was deemed to be one of the half dozen books that did most to change American life in the 20th century, and the role and consciousness of women everywhere.
