  Beatrix Potter 19 Oct 2005
A look at her life and career

An exhibition of work by Beatrix Potter has just opened at Dulwich Picture Gallery in South London, which reveals that her famous books of animals formed only a small part of her output. As well as her children’s book illustrations, Potter was an accomplished scientific illustrator, with a precise attention to detail.

Jenni talks to Potter’s biographer Judy Taylor about her life and brief but phenomenally successful children’s publishing career.
