Female artists in post-revolutionary Mexico

Earlier this month Tate Modern’s exhibition of works by the celebrated Mexican artist Frida Kahlo came to a close and as it did so, another exhibition began bringing together the work of other female artists active in post-revolutionary Mexico.

These artists, overshadowed by the giant Kahlo, were part of the rich artistic life of Mexico. Reporter Lara Corner went to the University of Essex Gallery to find out more about “Kahlo’s Contemporaries”.
