  Male Infertility 19 Sep 2005
How unconcerned should we be?

1 in 6 couples have difficulty conceiving and in a third of cases it is male infertility that accounts for the problem.

However, a recent survey found that although 67% of GPs felt that young men should be made more aware of fertility issues, only 12% of men viewed their fertility as a concern when thinking about starting a family.

Jenni is joined by Dr Allan Pacey, Senior Lecturer in Andrology, GP Dr Ann Robinson and Claire Brown, the Chief Executive of Infertility Network UK, to discuss male infertility. What causes it? Is it true that using a laptop can lower your sperm count? Are rates of infertility on the rise? And what treatments are available?
