When the mobile Hostess trolley was invented, it was thought that no longer would the lady of the house be banished to the kitchen to make sure all the food was ready on time.
Now, she could pop everything into the heated sideboard and sip her gin and tonic with the guests, safe in the knowledge that it would still be piping hot when dinner was served.
Halifax is now the home of the Hostess trolley - the Crosslee factory there still makes 20,000 a year. Clare Jenkins popped on her frilly pinny to celebrate the Hostess with the Mostest.
