AS Byatt on a neglected British surrealist

As a girl, the artist Eileen Agar travelled to England from Argentina with a cow and an orchestra because her rich and fashionable mother felt fresh milk and good music were essential to her well-being.

Novelist A S Byatt talks about her love for this neglected British artist whose life was as wild as her art.

The Eileen Agar retrospective is at the Redfern Gallery until 27 January
