A busy time of year
It's high season for members of the sooty profession as people prepare for blazing log fires and to prepare the route for Father Christmas.
Ruth Clear is one of the country's few female chimney sweeps, and has been up to her ears in soot for the last 20 years.
Jane Gething-Lewis met Ruth at the 18th century West Lodge in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire.
