How one school encouraged their pupils to value vegetables - and served up a feast

Over the past year children from Rosendale primary school in South London have taken part in a project called Feast, commissioned by LIFT.

On allotments near their school they've grown, cultivated and harvested vegetables destined to be served up at a fantastic feast.

With the help of a gardener, chef and artists in residence the children have learnt about nutrition, the seasons, how food grows, 'food miles' and, not least, about how to create a huge, communal celebration.

Melissa Viney met them as they were all gearing up for the big night.
