Prisoners in Java

The women and children held during the war
Over eighty thousand civilians, most of them women and children, were imprisoned by the Japanese on Java during the Second World War.
Romee Hindle was one of them, and she's leant her support to a campaign for a lasting memorial to all of those who were held in camps on the island.
Jenni talks to Romee Hindle and to Meg Parkes whose father was held prisoner by Japan.
