Sheds - do women get a look in? 14 Apr 2004
For generations the shed has been thought of as a male retreat.

It's a place to hide from the hoovering and noisy children. But do women ever get a look in?

The shed was chosen as one of the top 100 symbols of Britishness in the Millennium Dome and 1 in 5 of us has one. And a survey carried out by the British Institute of Surveys says that a well-kept garden shed can add up to 5% to the value of your property.

Faith Lawrence talks to Gordon Thorburn of Men and Sheds to explore the appeal of life at the bottom of the garden.
