  Cheerleading Thursday 13 November 2003
The all-American tradition of boosting the enthusiasm of a crowd through the chanting and athletic exploits of young women (and some young men ), has never been more popular.

This weekend as Manchester prepares to host the World Championships, Jenni and guests, Pat Hawkins, President of the UKCA (UK Cheerleaders Association) and Pam Bettis, author of Cheerleader: An American Icon explore the enduring appeal of pom poms and "basket throws".
The World Cheerleading Championships take place at Manchester MEN Arena on 15th and 16th November
