Addicted to Alcoholic Husbands Friday 16 August 2002
What motivates the partners, so often women, who care for problem drinkers.

Is it simply love in sickness and in health? Or do these partners thrive on feelings of being needed, of having a focus in their lives?
We talk to one woman who believes that she was as addicted to her husband's illness, as he was addicted to his alcohol.
Christine Northam of Relate and Jim Orford, Professor of Psychology at Birmingham University join Martha to explore the notion of co-dependency.
