Women Warriors Thursday 9 May 2002
Boudicca was queen of the Iceni people and a women warrior and Joan of Arc may have defeated the English army - but what evidence is there that women fought in battles throughout the ages.

Nicky Saunders teaches people to use the broadsword. Initially, she was told that she couldn't take part in re-enactments because, historically, women never wielded a sword in battle.
Nicky tells Jenni how her subsequent research reveals a very different story.
