Winter Bloomers Part 1 Tuesday 8 January 2002
It's all looking a bit grey and damp at the moment - as the clean, fresh frost of the past week or so has disappeared and the more familiar rain has returned. But it is possible to have colour and fragrance in the garden on even the most miserable winter days.

Maggie Campbell-Culver, the author of The Origin of Plants, shows Corinne Julius one of her favourite scented winter bloomers - the Mahonia.
The Origin of Plants by Maggie Campbell-Culver, Headline; ISBN: 074727214X, £25
