  Computers & Schools Tuesday 19 March 2002
Do not despair if your child just wants to sit in front of a computer and play computer games. Teem, a research group based at Bristol University, has got some good news.

It seems that playing these games at home might actually be beneficial to your children. They believe their findings can be used to create better games for schools. This, they say, justifies their greater use in schools as teaching aids.
Angela McFarlane is the director of Teem and is also professor of education at Bristol University. Inez Ware is an IT teacher at King Edmund School in Essex. They both join Jenni to discuss whether computers really can improve your child's co-ordination, motivation and managerial skills.
