Why do women underestimate their knowledge of politics?

New research from the Hansard Society says that women tend to underestimate their knowledge of politics, while men tend to overestimate theirs. What explains the gender gap in women's political engagement? Jane discusses the isuses with Dr Sarah Childs, Senior Lecturer in Politics at Bristol University, Jill Kirby, Director of the Centre for Policy Studies, and Guardian columnist Polly Toynbee.
