Lucy Mangan 12 Apr 2007
On Easter Monday you may have heard our special program on attempts - by some of us - to stem the ageing process. There has been a big rise in the number of people undergoing cosmetic 'enhancement' – last year liposuction alone was up by 90 % on 2005. We met Sarah Burge who has had 27 surgical procedures and is dubbed the ‘real life Barbie’. The journalist Lucy Mangan, who is in her early 30s, was inspired by the program to give us her thoughts on the impact that this obsession with youth is having on the young.
