The portrait of Princess Marguerite of Angouleme

This year Liverpool is celebrating being European Capital of Culture. Woman’s Hour are marking the occasion with a series of features discovering some the treasures in the city’s Museums and Galleries which have a particular significance for women. Today we’re at the Walker Art Gallery, where Louise Adamson joined Xanthe Brooke, the Curator of European Art, to visit the portrait of an extraordinary woman, Princess Marguerite of Angouleme, who lived in France in the Sixteenth Century.
