In response to concerns about the health of models on the catwalk at London Fashion Week, an Independent Model Health Inquiry chaired by Baroness Denise Kingsmill was set up. They put forward fourteen recommendations, one of which was that models participating in London Fashion Week, which started on Sunday, should provide a medical certificate attesting their good health from doctors with expertise in recognising eating disorders. The British Fashion Council who commissioned the Inquiry has now abandoned the idea. Jane talks to Dee Doocey, Liberal Democrats spokesperson for culture at the London Assembly, who says funding should be removed from London Fashion Week because they are putting profit for the industry ahead of the wellbeing of models. They are joined by Gabriella Palmano, co- director of Take 2 Model Management.
