Nostalgia foods 22 September 2009
Angel Delight. Photo by Chris K Jones
The foods we loved from the '60s and '70s

Angel Delight, fish paste and Vesta packet meals are just some of the easy-to-prepare foods that were consumed in the '60s and '70s. Despite today's more sophisticated palettes, why do many people still continue to search out such retro items? To discuss their enduring appeal Jane is joined by Philippa Lamb, author of 'Battenberg Britain', and the Guardian food writer Matthew Fort.

'Battenberg Britain: A Nostalgic Tribute to the Food We Loved' by Philippa Lamb and Nigel Cassidy is published by Michael O’Mara Books Ltd ISBN 978-1 84317-378-6
