Parenting classes for divorcing couples 15 July 2009
How effective are they?

Iain Duncan Smith this week called for a radical shake up of the family law system. He highlighted the need for parenting classes for divorcing couples. Resolution, the solicitors family law association is currently being piloted in six areas of the country. Reporter Felicity Finch sat in on one of these workshops and afterwards spoke to four people who had taken part. Liz Edwards, on the national committee of Resolution and Dr Liz Trinder, reader in family Studies at the University of Newcastle join Jenni  to discuss what parenting classes could do for the welfare of the 24,000 children each year  who are caught up in the crossfire of their parents separation.
