How a comedy writer and celebrity journalist ended up as a war correspondent in northern Uganda

Take a celebrity journalist who has grown tired of celebrities and yearns for more meaning in her life. Throw in an idealistic, handsome peace campaigner. Add in a dash of unrequited love and a madcap adventure in a war zone in Uganda. And there you have it – the true story more or less of Jane Bussmann. She also happens to be a successful comedy writer – South Park, Brass Eye, Smack the Pony. She talks to Jenni about her extraordinary working life from British comedy writer, to celebrity journalist in LA to war correspondent in Northern Uganda.
Book: The Worst Date Ever - War Crimes, Hollywood Heart-throbs and Other Abominations, published by MacMillan on 3 July.
