Welsh quilts in Ethiopia 9 April 2008
Quilt-making in Ethiopia
A development project that preserves the art of quilt-making

Today the technique of quilting has almost died out in Wales, but there is still a great demand for intricately sewn Welsh quilts.  And this demand may now be satisfied with the help of a project which is also promising a better life for women in one of the poorest parts of Ethiopia. It's been set up with the help of CAFOD, the Catholic development agency for England and Wales, and Welsh quilting expert Jen Jones. The BBC's Ethiopian correspondent, Elizabeth Blunt, travelled with Jen Jones to meet the Ethiopian quilters.
