Personal Cleanliness 07 Sep 2007
Going without washing - how dirty can you get?

Journalist Nicky Taylor wanted to find out whether we had become too concerned with being clean. She didn't wash, wash her hair or clean her teeth for forty days. She also restricted herself to three outfits - which also went unwashed. So, are we wasting both time and money on unnecessary cleaning products? And, should we be worried about the health and social implications of not being clean?

Ritula talks to Nicky Taylor and Dr Val Curtis, Director of the Hygiene Centre at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine about our attitudes to personal hygiene.

'How dirty can I get?' is on BBC Three at 9pm on Monday 10 September 2007.
