Anita Wardell 09 Aug 2006
Anita Wardell has been described by jazz critics as one of Britain's most exciting talents, and her artistry has recently been recognised at this year's BBC Jazz Awards, where she won the Best of Jazz category. A bebop singer, Anita specialises in vocalese, a style of jazz singing where lyrics are written for what would normally be instrumental solos. She'll be explaining to Jenni how she developed her talent for improvisation and sings live from her new album which is a collection of Blue Note classics.

Anita Wardell's new album Noted, is published by Specific Jazz. It is being launched on August 9th at Pizza on the Park.
