Cleaning stately homes: Ham House 25 Apr 2006
If you think that spring cleaning your home is a chore, imagine cleaning a stately home or an historic house. The National Trust have recently compiled a manual of housekeeping containing lots of useful tips gleaned from years of experience. You can find out how to buff your brasses, shine your chandeliers or preserve the family silver.

Sue Elliott Nicholls went to Ham House near Richmond in Surrey to find out the best way to look after statues and garden furniture.
