Girls and football in Kenya 1 February 2010
Sarah Forde with children in Kenya
Sarah Forde's unique coaching project

Former sports journalist Sarah Forde founded ‘Moving the Goal Posts’ in 2001 in Kilifi, an impoverished part of Kenya. It's a charity that uses football to develop the essential life skills - confidence, leadership and self esteem - of vulnerable young women. Sarah has been coaching a girls football team for eight years, and is planning to take three of her players to the World Cup next year. She talks to Jane about the effect this project has had on the girls involved.

‘Playing By Their Rules’, by Sarah Forde, is published by Create Space, ISBN/EAN13 number is 1442106271/9781442106277.
